May 14th to 18th

TED Talk of the Week
This TED Talk is a fun look at why it is important to make useless things.  It aligns with the design cycle process that our ES students will be learning next year.

Thank you!
  • Cody, Baya, Matt, Jason, Elaine, Neyda, Sara, Theresa, and Cynthia for offering extra support to the 5th grade students during this difficult time.  Together you are helping our students learn valuable life lessons.
  • Ryk, John, and Hyde for supporting our teachers with MAP testing.  You all helped to reduce the stress levels of all involved.
  • John, Hyde, and William for creating and offering training on the new Apple Family Sharing program for iPads.  You are creating a new system that will benefit our students, parents, teachers, and school.
  • John for organizing the BHA visitors.  This was a great opportunity to begin planning with other schools for next year.
  • Sara and Theresa for guiding us through the class placement process this week. Together we can create classrooms that will maximize student learning.
  • Michelle, Tessa, Judy, and Dana for hosting the JK parent tea.  This was a great community building event.

Teacher Appreciation Day
Tuesday May 15th is teacher appreciation day!  All ES faculty are invited to the ESPAC from 8:00 to 8:25am.  We have organized for parent volunteers to cover morning duties so everyone can attend.

Information from the Library
ES Library would like to inform the important information and dates with you.
This year's inventory date for all the KIS Libraries is from May 28 to June 1, so every library item must be returned by May 23.
During the inventory, the ES library will be closed and there will be no library class. You can still use the MS and HS Libraries, but checkouts are not available.
If you have a plan to use some of the library materials until the end of May(31st) for a class, please let ES Librarians (es_library@kis.ac) know!
We will save you in the list and you can return them by June 4.
You should check if all the items under your name should not be lost and stayed in your classroom or office.
You can go to the library website(destiny.kis.ac) and check "My info" if you'd like to see and renew your library books individually.
