November 26th to 30th

TED Talk of the Week
Judy created this video of students making their sculptures during clay week.  It is great to see how much fun our students have being creative!!

Thank you
  • Jenni, Helly, and Joseph, for organizing the author visit from Frank Cammuso.
  • Angela, Jason, Lindsay, and Sarah Ko, for volunteering to be on the ES Scheduling Committee.  Together we will create a schedule that can address our specific needs and improve student learning!
  • Sarah and April for leading the parent workshop on digital citizenship.  Parents came away from your presentation with a better understanding of how they can monitor and protect children online.
  • Jordanna for initiating and organizing the first student convention to create common recess agreements for 2nd and 3rd grade.
  • Everyone who participated in the ES Thanksgiving dinner.  It was a wonderful time to connect and be thankful for each other.

Communication in the ES
This week the ES communicated how thankful we are for our Korean staff and each other.  We had a Thanksgiving feast for 60+ people. When I walked into the ESPAC I was impressed by how wonderful the place looked.  The level of care and attention to detail added to the mood of the evening. We had over 40 Korean staff who come and celebrated Thanksgiving with us.  I also appreciate those who had other plans but still provided homemade goodies to show their appreciation. Of course, I should not be surprised by the level of care shown by the ES, that is who we are and what we do.  I am thankful to be on the same team as all of you!

Let’s Chat
This week I have 3 times booked for you to come in and chat. Of course, you are always welcome to stop in when my door is open.

Principal Academic Leadership Survey

Quarter 2: Focus on Respect!

Dismissal
Please remind all students that do not ride the bus that they should exit the campus at 4 when you walk them to the gate. Students should not stay to play on the field.
Thank you for helping us reiterate this expectation!

#PubPDAsia
#PubPDAsia is a unique PD initiative that combines a face to face session with the power of Twitter. Across Asia, groups of educators will come together to chat in person on the topic for the month: Change. The event poster includes the questions for this topic.
Each group will also connect with the others through the use of Twitter and the chat hashtag.
We're excited to be hosting a Jeju location for this event. This is an amazing way to connect both with our local and global communities.
